![]() Many fans will be happy to be able to play the game with friends, especially during a pandemic. Related: Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition Switch Review: This Old Rollercoaster Is Still Going StrongĪdding multiplayer to Parkitect is interesting for a theme park simulator considering these games are usually single-player. Players can invite other players to lobbies through Steam. One person can build the rollercoaster, while someone else builds the building that leads up to the rollercoaster. Players can see what other players are building, so they can coordinate how to build the park. Up to eight players can build a theme park together online. Parkitect released two years ago this week, and to celebrate, a new update is launching that adds co-op. Texel Raptor, the developers of Parkitect, are celebrating the release of Parkitect 1.0. ![]() I'll be watching the progress as the game goes forward.Parkitect is getting a free update that adds online multiplayer. The game has a ton of promise, and I'm glad I bought it. There's a lack of stuff to build, but once again they're early in development. This is something that will probably be fixed with time.īuilding elevated paths is an unmitigated mess at this point, but it's something they can figure out. I do like that there are buttons that will tell you how the velocity is while you're building, but it only shows you velocity when the train reaches where you're building. One thing I do like about the coaster builder is there is always train going around the track as you build, though I wish it was more frequent as when the train finishes up to where you are, it restarts the entire circuit. I can't for the life of me figure out how to place a break section since it's always grayed out. You can only build pieces going forward on the track, you can't build pieces the other way it's all going forward. ![]() Sometimes the station button greys out so you can't build station pieces, even when adding onto a station. Sometimes it randomly connects and sometimes it doesn't recognize there's track in front of it. The big problem with the coaster builder is when you finish you're track, for some reason connecting the two ends is finicky and I cannot figure out how to connect the circuit. ![]() I'm just used to clicking a function in RCT and it automatically building the piece, so hopefully they can streamline it a little bit. When you go to build a track piece, you have to select it and tune it (add pitch, roll, lift hill, brakes) than you have to click a build button. You can do a lot of stuff to make cool/realistic coasters. When in coaster builder, it has an interface similar to the RCT games. I've played a couple hours of it, there are a lot of things I really like about this game and the future looks bright, but it's kind of hard to build stuff right now. Like I said above, there is only one mode right now, sandbox, and it has all the business stuff in it so you can run out of money. I saw this today and bought it in a heartbeat, and I'm very glad I did because this game has a grand vision for its future. I put 4,000 hours into RCT 1 and 2, which was probably my introduction into hardcore gaming. There is only a sandbox mode right now, but you have to still manage your funds, so no unlimited mode right now. ![]()
